Earl Pickles sure is like Andy Capp: doesn’t do much when Opal/Flo asks him to do something.

That comes under “sitting around” and probably reading while doing so.!

I finally figured out Roscoe has his nose up in the air and his tongue out in the third panel.

No, I don’t have anything I need to be doing. However, you might want to call someone to get on the phone and call someone to get all that stuff fixed.

That is not a very good defense.

Sorry babe, my working days are waving to me from the rear view mirror of life.

Earl needs to get a little more fiber. and Since Opal is in charge of cooking, this is still really all her fault.

If only Roscoe could talk…he’d have a few choice words for both of them….woof

It’s true..the older I get the more I appreciate the finer things in life..just like Earl! ;o}

Earl is so much like my father used to be, even looks like him. Sigh

Isn’t that what retirement is all about? I’m very content sitting around reading, writing on my laptop, or watching television.

I get a good strenuous 40-minute workout and brisk 2-4 mile walk in every day. That’s enough!

I have my daily and weekly chores that I happily do, but I’m not going looking for something else to do

I know who to call if something needs to be fixed or repaired. There’s nothing in my retirement contract that says I have to be handy!

I get a lot of paperwork done during my stints in the bathroom… (and I know how that sounds, but I’m serious!!)… clipping coupons, stapling bills, sorting/collating various stuff for further action. Sometimes the laptop comes along with me so I can bank online, answer emails, or balance my budget. Hey… time is precious…!!

That’s where Earl keeps his library!!!!!! lol

Cleaning is your job Opal and it wouldn’t hurt to learn how to fix stuff too.

I got a good laugh out of that. I must be getting old. Now I’m feeling a compelling urge to yell at the neighbor’s children.
