My wife and I went to a wedding and at the reception they played a game of Trivia. If you did not answer the question correctly you had to eat a bug. Of course the bugs were dead and salted. But gee, I thought that it was a weird thing to do at a reception. To each their own, I guess.

My sister took a cooking class in Paris. There was a big deal in American media at the time about insect parts discovered in food. The French thought this was hilarious. Those Americans think their food is sterile!
My sister’s reacton was the same as Nelson’s when her cat caught and ate an insect. Her reaction was made stronger because the cat seemed to be enjoying the treat.
One of my friends used to take his cat “hunting” by picking him up and carrying him over to bugs on the walls, ceilings, high shelves – which the cat would quickly dispatch.

My dad’s theory was that while cows were vegetarians, they ate a fair number of bugs by not caring about bugs on their food.

I have been told that on average every person swallows about 8 spiders a year. In their sleep.
PS: The rules for most food products include a maximum amount of “insect parts” which is larger than zero.
