“That Rite-Aid used to be a Thrifty, and there next to the Albertsons that used to be a Lucky? That was a TG&Y after the W.T. Grant chain that used to have a store there went out of business.”
I experienced this recently, I was thinking of an old Richway on the other side of town (Charlotte), which I recall becoming a Target. Then back in December I was headed out in that direction when I decided to see what, if anything, was there. It’s now a Kimbrell Furniture, or at least was.

The real fun starts when you argue with your fellow pluggers about what was there for the past 40 years and/or in which order….

Many of the Target stores in my old hometown used to be “Gemco” stores, including the one (Gemco) where my dad worked for a couple of years.
