I guess I must be a “double-plugger” then because the trousers of both (navy engagement, black wedding) my suits have hidden (from external view) watch pockets!
Cool! Those were the good old days when this country actually manufactured clothing! Recently gave away loads of clothing to goodwill mostly made in the USA in the 80’s. Today you cannot find a label that says Made in U.S.A.
Had a Pocket watch that was giving to me! Gave it to someone else. I had on a lamp by my bed liked hearing it Tick:D Didn’t like to “wear” it. The Jeans I would use the pocket for the watch, to hold coins for when I took the bus, if I walked to far
I have some trousers with 8 pockets. A hidden pocket within each front and two watch pockets, one on each side. The coat has 7 pockets, 3 outside, 3 inside plus a pen pocket. What they needed all those pockets for is beyond me.
.
Perhaps it’s for when tool belts are not fashionable.
One pocket is for the watch, the other is for the fob at the other end of the watch chain.
The two hidden pockets in the front pants pockets are for small object like coins, to keep them from falling to the bottom of the main pocket and forming a clump that interferes with the way the pants hang.
In the jacket, the breast pocket is for the handkerchief, the left inside pocket (if you are right handed) is for the wallet, the small pocket on the right is for calling cards, the large pocket on the right is for your money clip.
The two outer side pockets are where you put your gloves when you enter a building.
Pen pocket, of course, is for your gold fountain pen.
I’m old enough to have worn this type of suit, I must be a plugger.
