Ah yes, lawn. That which we buy fertilizer for to help make it grow, buy water to keep it from turning brown, buy weed control, buy a lawn mower and gas to keep the grass from growing too high…and we call ourselves the ‘intelligent species’?
…Joe Allen Doty…it was MY play on words to mean we spend too much on this fool hardy cutting…I have 30 year old push TORO and a MURRAY. Other wise in noting how foolish we spend–rather than invest.
I’m looking forward to mowing this year. My mother died, and we will inherit her riding lawn mower. Borrowed it once to mow last year, and that was almost as much fun as driving a go-cart. (We have 5 acres, so there’s plenty of room to get it going fast.)
Been there and done that. After both of my brothers moved out I was the designated lawn mowing child while I lived at home. A reel type push mower and had to use the old fashioned grass clippers. Dad would not buy a power mower. Then I left and he went right out and bought not only a power mower but a string trimmer.
My husband and I took over mowing/trimming at their house for nine years with our riding mower and gas powered string trimmer until they both passed away and the house sold.

Only a plugger would know that it comes out to 33 and a third HP per Sq Ft.

Tigger,

Pluggers love their toys, don’t they?
