I must be a plugger. My two vehicles both fit the government’s definition of a clunker except for the gas mileage part. As such, I watched people who bought big gas guzzlers get rewarded for their choices while I continue to drive my old beaters.
Until last year, my main mode was a 1969 Olds Cultass in harvest gold and international orange. I was highly offended when somone asked me if I was going to trade in my classic baby for something new. I may not drive her everyday, but she’s still mine; bought and paid for!

Clunkenment.

Mine may be an ‘86 clunker, but it gets 20 in town and 30 on the highway…and better yet, it’s paid for. I’m WAY ahead of them.

Tigger, I agree with your assessment of what clunkers are supposed to be, but “Pluggers” generally don’t drive small fuel efficient cars.
