8-track? I never succumbed to the fad, it has more problems than cassettes or vinyl with none of the advantages of either. I do, however, have about 60 LPs and am in the market for more.
Pluggers in Maine-hummm- well,suppose so,
I was born there!! (only spent 1st 2 weeks of my life there tho). I pretty much do the same at yard sales- but, I keep the list in my head!!

I hated the way they took a 2 sided LP & made it 4 channels. It would let the tape play until it just wore out, & they’d click in the middle of a song to go to the next channel. 8-track was doomed when they figured out how to put stereo & auto-reverse on cassette players. But before 8-track, most cars only had radio, FM if you paid for the upgrade.

Probably will find those without too much trouble, too! :^)

When I go to those places, I look for vintage cassette recorders…from the late 1970’s to the early 1990’s.

Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, yeah, Kate Smith, no thanks. Lovely voice, but not my kind of music.

Anybody remember in the mid 60’s a 4-track auto player that was available? I didn’t have one, but heard one once.

I had a 4-track. Also had a 4+8 track. It was a pile of crap.

I take a list with me to the library used book sales. Otherwise I tend to buy things I already own.
