Like gasoline, film didn’t used to be that expensive, FishStix. The old photographer’s expression was that film was the cheapest part of photography, so shoot away and only keep the one in twenty or so that turned out to be okay.

All the photos in my family album that were from the 1970’s have turned a lovely orange. I don’t know what’s up with that. We have been able to scan and restore the color on some of them with today’s equipment, though. Film was always a luxury for us, even when it was cheap. Those same few $$ could’ve bought food for a meal, and eating always won.

It’s not so much the film, as the stories behind them. Young pluggers need to record, or at least listen to elder pluggers, in order to put the stories behind those photos.

I’m not quiet that old, but if I knew then that it was important to listen to the stories, the pictures would have an entirely new meaning.

There are more types of film than Kodachrome, Tigger. Some people prefer it, but there really are other types of film.
