I can vouch that Ford was still issuing two keys as late as 1996 — the square-headed one for everything on my Bronco except the rear window, and a round one just for that.

Remember when you had the copies made, and they had one color cap for the square and another color cap for the rounded one?

I’m not getting the “funny” on this one, either. I guess you had to be there.

Aaaaaah yes! The good ol’ days! And you could get duplicate keys made at Woolworth’s or the corner drug store for a dollar or two!

I once had a car that used a screwdriver for everything.

I agree with Nighthawk and Luvthempluggers. So? We remember two keys, now you don’t even need ONE! Keyless entry is the big thing now.

Back at my last job, one of the salesman was so smart. He left the keys in the ignition of a company car that locked with a combination, thinking he was safe. Somebody came along and broke the window with a rock and drove it away!
