This should have ran on Father’s Day – reminds me so much of my dad.

I guess that makes me a plugger, and I’m not even fifty yet!

Back 20 or so years ago I walked into a barber shop with one in the chair and no one waiting. The barber set me up with an “appointment”. What should have taken 10 or 15 minutes lasted 45 minutes and cost 3 times as much. That new barber in town didn’t stay in business very long in that poor town.

My husband’s barber is so good and in such high demand that if you don’t make an appointment a few days in advance for when you want it, you won’t be able to get in on the day you do want it.

Tennessee Ernie Ford used to talk about somebody being so easily entertained that he could, “Go into town and watch haircuts.” I remember those days, and those people.

Actually, it’s kind of the opposite.

My hair cuts are easy, I go in every three months, tell my barber, give me the usual, buzz cut with no guard. Been that way since 1071, no need for anythinbg new, kind of like the magazines in the barber shop. And yes, I said Barber Shop.

Now that I’m retired, I don’t mind waiting reading 2 yr. old mags. I got nothing to do, and all day to do it!
