And a slide rule to figure how much is a “serving.” Hint: About enough to feed your pet hamster.

As a kid your choice was easy. If the cereal had your favorite mascot, that’s the one you picked (getting mom to bring that cereal home of course was a different matter ;-D).

I’m not convinced Chicken Lady would even care about nutrition. Especially since she’s a chicken.

C’mon fellow pluggers! At 77 I am one of you, and I am glad I can finally see that stuff the’re putting in the stuff that I put into myself! (PS: They have redefined the “single serving” so the consumer better knows what it is.) Remember the ingredients are listed in order of volume used, from most to least.

My favorite breakfast has always been Kashi crunch cereal with a little heated milk, a handful of walnuts, chopped apples and blueberries. With a latte, it’s the best thing in the world :~) YUM!

The trouble is, if you’re allergic to soy, try to find something that does not contain it! Put your $$ in soybeans, people! It’s in practically everything these days!

Just eat the box. It has fiber. Just add sugar to taste. It’ll taste like wild hickory nuts!

    1) All cereal boxes give the equivalent serving size, so compare how much fat, sugar, and salt they have.

    2) Mutiply the fat content by the number of servings to see how much you’ll get if you eat the whole box.

GOD THAT’S SO COMPLICATED IT’S LIKE REMEMBERING HOW TO USE MY FRONT DOORKNOB OR SOMETHING

Not really, just apply Dave Barry’s analysis (from his book Stay Fit and Healthy until You’re Dead): If the average number of syllable per ingredient is one or two, it’s probably safe to consume in small quantities; if it’s three or four, it probably causes dread diseases in laboratory animals; if it’s five or more, set the container down very carefully and flee the vicinity.

That explains a lot of things.
