C’mon, take it as a compliment! Even my older brother and I at times call our elderly aunts and female cousins “young lady” (and they get a nice laugh out of it).
Emmylou Harris has had grey hair a while, and she still looks great. Maybe better than when she and Bonnie sang backup for Little Feat. Yea, she was a doll then and now.
It’s amazing how your perception of aging changes. When you’re younger, you think that everyone over 30 (or 40, or 50, or … pick an age) should look and act like a fossil.
Stop me if I’ve already mentioned this…on second thought, don’t: In line at the grocery store on a busy Saturday, the check-out guy, about 30 years my junior, refers to me, not once, not twice, but several times, as “young lady.” Now, I do have a sense of humor, and I sympathize with the social inadequacies of the immature, but he was pushing it. So as I was leaving I said, “Thanks, Old Timer.” You should have seen the shock on his face. “Now THAT’s comedy!”

Too funny that this oh-so-appropriate cartoon should appear on my birthday! Thanks, Gary!

TheWildSow20 years? More likely dead. I am already way past my life expectancy at birth.
