In one cartoon, a dog thinks to himself it’s his lucky for the mailman and a pair of missionaries are coming to the house (my fellow Latter-day Saints would know what I mean). There was another cartoon where a dog says its his lucky day to see a mailcat coming to the house.
I knew a guy like that, lived across the hiway from me but he used binoculars. When the truck was in sight he would start down his long driveway with his walker. He sometimes got there to greet the mail carrier too.
Not so much anymore but I remember during summer break that the two big events everyday were the arrival of the mailman and then later in the early evening, the newspaper. We also had bread delivered by truck but despite pleas for those marvelous packaged doughnuts, Mom only bought bread. The milkman came too but that was way before I woke up for the day.

Sure, Skippy doesn’t care if it’s junk mail or something important. It’s all the same to him

My friends dog hated the mail so much, she almost destroyed it when it arrived.

I just wish he/she would close the mailbox door! I’m tired of finding the door open and wet (or snow covered) mail inside…
