    I put those styrofoam covers over the spigots in case we get a hard freeze. Being in Central Texas tho, it doesn’t happen very often.

    All of our hydrants are direct into the ground, so as long as we unhook the hoses, the hydrants are good. And yes, I drain the water out of the hoses, in case I need to use them when it is below freezing to put out a grass fire.

    Ours is mostly self draining; however, hooking the air compressor to the manifold and opening each circuit makes for a quick job…

    We have to have our sprinklers blown out and all kinds of yard and garden winter preparation. It was so much easier in California. What did I do to get my yard ready for winter in California? Nothing!

    94 degrees here in wintry SoCal. Almost sweated to death walking down the street to vote.
