I think in the Flintstones’ case, one button: the little bird in the device controls all those functions by flying towards the unit and turning the dials.
Add one more, the “flashback” or “repeat” button. That’s how a plugger watches 2 shows at once.
But wouldn’t that be 6 buttons: channel up and down and volume up and down as well as power and mute?
Since I have a DVR I also record and playback too.
And to save time scrolling, you need ten more to tell it which channel you want.
I’m a true plugger. I walk up to the TV and change the channels that way.
I don’t record or scroll.
I use mute, especially during election season. And for channels I watch frequently (especially locals), I dial direct.
Our mute button is practically worn out out from over use.
