my parents’ (more likely my father’s) pick-up truck has manual roll-up windows; you also have to reach from the driver’s seat to reach the opposite door’s lock from the inside

Lots fewer things to go wrong. They last almost forever. Replacing window motors is a pain, and it’s a bit expensive.

Don’t forget about vent wings! They were by far the best things for kids to play with!

My 2004 van was the first vehicle I’ve owned with power windows, very handy in something six feet wide.

Y’know, most cars on the road have automatic windows, but we all use a circle motion to indicate we want the other driver to roll down their window. In fact, even the term “roll down the window” is archaic.

I bought my vehicle as bare as possible and have manual windows and door locks. And, I like it. :)

I recall a case years ago in Prince Edward Island, Canada where they found a car that had gone off the road into water. They found the people had been trying to claw open the electric windows that had shorted out in the water. For years I refused to get them. Now they are standard equipment.
