This is why I have night light in my bedroom as well as have one in my living room. (I hope this plugger wasn’t planning on going to the kitchen for a midnight snack while the spouse is still asleep.)
We found these great emergency flashlights at Costco, they also have an automatic nightlight function. So, we have a half dozen plugged in around the house.

Toes seem to work just about as well as shinbones, and they can find more furniture as you hop around trying to rub the first one.

Cellphone. If I only learned one thing from my son about technology, it is how to use my phone as both a flashlight and an alarm clock.
