I don’t need a fancy-lil’-windmill, clowns’ nose, an’ such: I just use the walnuts droppin’ off right now, a good-sturdy walkin’ stick(an old beat-up baseball bat works for the “tee-off”!), an’ my own-private assortment of mole-hills, holes, and tunnels! (The ideal-hazard is the septic-laterals.) ☺
I once stalled the windmill when one of its sails trapped my perfectly-timed (but poorly aimed) ball against the ground. Wasn’t sure how to score that one…
Last March, my almost 70 husband decided he wanted to play mini golf on his birthday. We ended up at the Rio Resort (in Las Vegas) at an indoor course that was “Twilight Zone” themed. We had a blast.
Wee St. Andrews in Dallas was the best course. No animated gimmicks, just natural obstacles like a trees in the middle, or teeing off a real 18’ Austin chalk cliff. I made a micro-golf course (nine holes in 18×48 inches) copying real miniature courses. Two thirds came from WSA, another couple from one in front of the music hall in Fair Park. Only antiques remember these great courses.

A golf enthusiast asked my brother if he played golf. He said yes! Just last night I got the ball in the clown’s nose and got a free game.

We had a picnic at the local mini golf range with a competition for the best scores. It was loads of fun; had forgotten how much…
