A beverage with gym socks…. no thanks. (I’ll stick with my red wine being lemonade or red wine being cranberry juice.)

With the many varieties of wine out there, is there such a thing as simply bringing a person “a glass of wine”?

Years ago two women in the area placed a personal ad for dates for a picnic, the “winners” to be based on how they described the wine they’d choose for the picnic. Many males (boys and men – use your imagination as to why I phrased it that way and you’d be right) tried their best and/or worst. Their dates for the picnic where the only ones who thoughtfully answered the ad like this – “White, red, or both?”

I never buy wine in restaurants. I’m either in a brewpub or a place that doesn’t have liquor license.

“Very well, sir. Both the red and the white wines are from an excellent vintage: last Thursday.”

Not necessarily. I fit a lot of the plugger descriptions, but not this one. I do know a bit about wine, enough to know that I do not care for a hearty robust red (Cabernet Sauvignon) as much as a lighter, sweeter one (Travicello! Best Italian wine ever).

2 words – “No thanks”. — I don’t imbibe – don’t have to remember labels or years or make decisions dependent on a person trying to sell me something.

90% of the time make mine white, dry and bubbly. Learning to like a nice blend of red that doesn’t make me think I’m drinking an old bottle of vinegar. Don’t care for sweet wines…see Annie Greensprings reference above, lol!
