My Mom once got a wrong number caller. She talked to the woman for 45 minutes. I happened to be there and asked her if she knew knew this person. She said no but the lady was nice.
One of the great advances in phonery – Caller ID. If I don’t know the number, I don’t answer. One exception: if I’m expecting a call from a repair person.
Not me. The less I am on the phone the better I like it. I prefer face to face. My dad would be proud of me because I was the complete opposite as a teen and early 20’s.
I heard once of a funeral home whose number was one digit different from a local pizza place and would often get their calls. The director would tell people that miscalled him that he didn’t deliver but only made pick ups.
I talk to telemarketers. Shortest was 3 minutes. Longest was about 30. Not that I was interested in what they had to say. It frustrated them and it amused me.
I wonder how long before the word “dial” in this context disappears from the language? OT, I also wonder how much longer the floppy disk icon represents the Save command.

Pluggers don’t care who you are, as long as you’ll listen to them. And they have old stuff.

You can’t “dial” a number without a dial. :)

Finding a phone number is a random guess now that menus are bigger than the phone book.
