Still plenty to do while social distancing, especially if you have a yard and a car. I’ve been practicing it for years and never seem to run out of things to do.
I worry about the extra isolation on those in memory-care facilities not being able to have interaction with family for vital social connection. Also those in their homes with no outside support who lack computers or family to help fill long days and nights.
Largest impact: I go grocery shopping every other week instead of weekly. My wife is finding the isolation a bit difficult. It’s Spring and she has a new yard to fill with plants, but the nurseries are mostly closed.
One of the great things about reading comics online is the ability to read and write comments. In these days of limited social contact, the comment sections provide people - pluggers and others- with a great opportunity to interact with other minds, whether it is by sharing reminiscences or discussion philosophical or political issues. Thank you, all cartoonists, for giving us this outlet.
Not being able visit family or them visiting is very emotionally difficult. Isolation was/is used as a weapon of torture. Stay active as much as your surroundings allow you to. I am glad for online face times.
Many viruses remain in the system and reappear when the body is weakened. Those young healthy people who had minimal symptoms this time, and consequently see no problem may have a very unwelcome surprise the first time they are in an accident or get any type of disease that weakens them— The dirty little virus that is hiding in their cells just waiting to gang up with it’s new found buddy.
Why is there so much interest in living a long life? I’m in my early 50’s, and I don’t want to make it more than another 20 years. Mom’s in her late 80’s. Good God no, I don’t want to live that long even if I am healthy, and she is.

Tomorrow I will make lentil bean soup. Anything to break the monotony.
