I have found Matchbox cars, a screwdriver that was driven into the ground (well, the handle was all I found), and a lightning rod ground connection rod sticking up just enough to break the crankshaft off the engine.

Metal detecting without a metal detector …..Always good to do a walkthrough before cutting if little ones have been in the area ;-)

We found one about 1 year later. Surprised no critters took it- it was a hard boiled egg.

When my kids were young, my mower doubled as a rock picker.

It’s better than finding what a neighbor’s dog left!

That happened to my grandpa once! Artist should have thought of a way to show that the eggs are REALLY rotten 2 months after Easter!

Rotten hard-boiled eggs. Ugh! That is why we hid hollow plastic eggs with chocolate candy inside them.

I have learned to walk the yard prior to mowing, to pickup all my dogs’ (4) bones.

It’s handy to have a dog (or if possible, borrow one) to check out the yard the day after Easter. There will be no lost eggs after that!

Similarly, I keep finding my dog’s tennis balls.
