The time between my recharges is getting shorter and shorter!

I keep spare ‘chargers’ in several locations.

Now I’m just wondering what part plugs where.

Eh, but food is what charges me batteries.

In Denmark it is difficult to get any sofas or chairs with a high back anymore, such a pity.

Reclining chairs have been around for centuries - starting with the ancient Egyptians (although those might better be called ‘sprawlers’ because ability to move was severely limited). The first ones with intricate moving parts appeared in 1850 as a camp cot, designed for Napoleon III. It doubled as a chair and a bed. In the 1860s, the British developed the Morris Chair, the first that could be reclined to a certain degree. It was meant to solve the problem of having to build different chairs for different heights and was used and adapted for medical use and for travel. It became very popular in Europe and not just for invalids and travelers. A number of variations popped up, including the Foot’s Adjustable Rest Chair, which had a number of features, like housing tables, desks, and lights. But it wasn’t until the beginning of the 1900s that a modified Morris Chair made it to the US. Edwin Shoemaker, one of the founders of La-Z-Boy patented the recliner in the 1927. It started as a wooden bench and morphed into an upholstered model in 1931. But for years the classic “La-Z-Boy” recliner was primarily for ‘boys’ because the handles were too low for women to reach. I’m not sure who actually invented the push-button design-possibly that was due to Daniel Caldemeyer’s “rocket recliner” in the 60s but it wasn’t until the 70s or 80s that one could find a recliner which didn’t require long arms.
