Because of the rising price of bread I resumed using the old bread maker. Easy. About every third day I make just plain bread at a small fraction of store bought. Some day I’ll get enough courage to make rye bread.

I wonder what the rules are for keeping a cow in the city? Chickens?

let me guess: the first instruction in a plugger’s baking recipe is to make sure you have all the necessary ingredients ere you go to the store to get them

No. The first instruction is ‘start with a clean pan’.

The first and last instruction in my plugger’s baking recipe is: microwave two minutes.

I thought the final instruction was “lick the bowl”.

Breaking a sweat stirring a two quart bowl? Not a good sign, especially if it is cold in the house-long sleeved turtle neck sweater.

Even with an electric mixer making “the world’s oatiest oatmeal cookies” takes a lot of “elbow grease” while using a spatula to scrape the dough off the sides of the bowl. :)

    But, oh … those cookies.

Only if you want your pastries to be grainy and hard as a rock.
