What can you get that’s 29 cents, except for pennies picked up off the street?

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Sometimes, disposables really are the smarter way to go.

My brushes cost $7 to $11 or so; I clean them and use them many times. Some are for dark paint, some for light, and others for white. Special brushes for shellac, others for poly. Then there are the oil-based paint brushes… Of course, there are the new unused ones for backup and special upcoming projects…

The last time we had our septic tank pumped out, the serviceman showed me all the water-base paint inside; and I hadn’t cleaned a brush in two months.

I clean my cheap paint brushes, so I don’t have to go buy new ones whenever I need one. I’m much more likely to get a task done if I have everything I need in the garage. Cold water only and air dry.

But it’s my favorite paintbrush.

29 cent brushes (if you can find them anywhere) or any cheap brush I use with oil based paints are thrown out. My good $4-$6 brushes are used with Latex paints and I will clean them multiple times before they are thrown out.

If only for the experience. But wear the paint stains on your hands and clothes for days. Conversation starters.

Not me- – toss into the trash or use it for a door stop (wedge).

Don’t forget to twirl it between your hands to make sure it’s dry…
