Off the hook too long and it screams to be hung up!

At his age, the plugger doesn’t want to be on the hook for anything.

I get automatic spam alerts for a lot of my incoming smart phone calls.

After my dad died, I had to cancel his number because of all the spam calls he was still getting.

a copper wire land line would be a life saver should an EMP or natural disaster take out cell and satellite service. The old copper wire lines will still work to place calls.

Sometimes you make it seem like you’re always busy …

… and sometimes you just have to leave them hanging.

I used to answer and if it was a spammer I would set the phone down and let them continue their spiel and watch tv until I would hear them saying , Sir are you there, louder Sir are you there. Loved it.

I don’t bother to answer the landline any more with all the robo calls. We have a message that ends “If you are soliciting for anything, please hang up and take this number off your list.” If it’s someone that we really need to talk to, they’ll identify themselves and leave a message.

I keep my landline just for cheap internet but it only rings with telemarketers. One phone, in an unused room, in a bedside table drawer, under a few bed linens. I never answer it, I don’t even hear it anymore.. haven’t for over ten years.

Just unplug it from the wall….avoids that hideous LOUD wail that starts up after a minute or two…..

I don’t bother answering the phone if I don’t recognize the number. If it’s important, leave a message.

Some of us pluggers remember the days when you had to answer the phone because there was no answering machine. The caller would let it ring up to 20 times to give you time to come in from the clothes line or downstairs — the phone being on the wall in the kitchen.
