I think the Plugger species is older than the Nerd species, but not by much.

Or the plugger could just make do with a fanny pack.

I have found that a lot of shirts these days have no pockets.

I never wear shirts without pockets, even undershirts, started wearing cargo pants so I’d havea pocket for my phone.

I always had a pocket protector. Carried a mechanical pencil, two pens – red and black ink, 6" machinists rule, and a dial thermometer in one pocket and a note pad in the second pocket.

Two pockets and a flap that you can close to hold your phone.

Bare minimum and must be supplemented with cargo pants.

Of a decent size. Preferably with button down flaps, with a slot for a pen. For me, long sleeves rolled up instead of short sleeves. Good to have options.

I had to wear pocketed shirts for work. I have none, now that I’m retired. Not even a pocketed tshirt.

I’m definitely a Plugger in this case, always look for shirts with two pockets and long sleeves ….. can always roll up the sleeves during the day when it get hotter …. but if it get cooler in the evening, can roll back down ……. :)

    Shirts: No pockets, no purchase.

Everyday pants: More pockets More happiness. Cargo or scrubs all good

    Just my silly opinion

Hubby was definitely a Plugger, and always wore a work shirt and his regular shirts with one pocket only. He quite neatly kept everything he needed in the pocket protector. That was mostly before the days of cell phones, but he carried a beeper in his jeans pocket at work. I don’t recall seeing many two-pocket shirts at all, except for some Western shirts.

With me it is the jeans. I had to get a new cell phone a year or so ago (due to cell phone co, not my choice or broken phone – when 3G was discontinued somehow my 4G phone had to be replaced as it would no longer – so I had to rearrange my jeans pockets.

Pre the cell phone change I used to wallet and keys in my right front pocket and cell phone, tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, tiny spray bottle of alcohol, space pen and small pill box in left front pocket. Since change of phone – the phone, pill box, space pen go in my right pocket and the rest in the left pocket. (I like to have the hand sanitizer in left pocket to grab with left hand – untouched by whatever reason I need it for – if needed.)

But at the same time Covid and the pandemic were starting our state had a law which was to go into effect that stores could no longer have “one time use” plastic bags and would either charge a fee if county/major city the store was in had a law requiring same or could charge for the paper bags if there was no fee. (Stores here charging 10 cents, with sales tax comes to about 11 cents per bag.) Over the decades I have been keeping both types of bags to have for reuse. Husband has said (as do organizing books) “ever go into a store and they don’t have a bag?” But due to same to I was prepared to use our bags for shopping. For full scale food shopping I use predoubled paper bags kept in the car. When we just go in for a few things (or to walk around so husband doesn’t go crazy in the house) I fold down plastic bags and use “the plastic bag dispensers” which came with my jeans – I can easily fit 2 folded down plastic bags in each back pocket and if I try hard I can fit 3 in each.

Walmart here no longer has either type of bag available and one who does not have one and wants one has to buy one of the heavier plastic reusable shopping bags and this is apparently NOT the first state in which they have done this and will continue to spread same across the country.
