Could be at a buffet…. Never understood why some folks grossly overfill their plates at a buffet… don’t they know they can go back for seconds, thirds, whatever?
I was once an extra in a movie, “fat guy at fish fry”. I had to keep piling food on the plate and eating as they filmed from different angles. This Plugger had his fill of fried food for a long while.
Several years ago I noticed that some restaurants were changing the wording at their buffets to “All you CARE to eat” instead of “CAN” eat. Seems too many folks were taking it as a challenge. Bad mindset. Very unhealthy.
e tend to eat at buffets, but not for the amount of food, rather the assortment of food being our choice. We will have each have a cup soup (in normal times also a small salad, but neither of us is ready to eat uncooked food yet after Covid). Then take half the amount of food we should eat for the main course of the mail – meat, veg, carb. Return for second plate of same for the other half of what we should eat. Used to take dessert (my favorite part of any meal) but have not done so since before Covid.

In my prime I could do a half chicken dinner at Swiss Chalet/Boston Market, sides and desert. Now a sandwich sends me home for a nap

I used to get my moneys worth at a buffet by going back 3 times, but now I can hardly make it through 1. So why do I keep gaining weight?

When we were kids my parents would always say, “Big I, little G”, for big eye, little gut, when we took more than we could eat.

Never go back for seconds. Get everything on your plate the first time around.
