So where have you hidden the cameras to see me doing this all the time? The spots on my lens could be from spatters, but how do they get so smudged? Especially right after I’ve cleaned them! Pluggers is one of my very favorite comics, I often see myself or someone I know as the days subject!
A I have gotten older, I notice my glasses seem to be dirty all the time. Used to be I only cleaned them once in awhile and wondered how I could even see out of them.
I worked for the Postal Service for 35 years and my glasses were always coated with dust from mail and bare concrete floors. The dust gathered on both sides of the lenses. I’ve been retired for almost 16 years and my glasses are still heavily coated with dust. Go figure!
I knew a woman who could do “projectile crying” on demand. Her girl friends would use her to get out of anything they disliked in high school because she could literally “let the tears fly”.
Those are the specks you see on your specs – bits of tear ejected when you blink.
I have worn glasses since second grade. Husband only started needing eyeglasses much more recently – and does not need them all the time. He goes crazy wiping them off as the spots annoy him so. I don’t wipe my glasses often at all and he will pick them up and ask why the spots don’t annoy me. (I also have floaters in my eyes so even without my glasses I see spots – he can’t understand how I deal with same at all.)

I never touch the lenses, but the same cannot be said for my two affectionate pussycats. Nose prints accumulate quickly.

When I have dirty glasses I think why ? Then I remember cooking or walking in the rain … And forgetting to clean the glasses afterward ;-)

I figured it out — it’s the dust I’m already starting to return to.

The really depressing thing is when you realize the smudges aren’t on the glasses but in your eyes.

The bicycle and the kayak are usually to blame.

Dirty eyebrows. I ordered smaller lenses to avoid the problem.

Random splatters from home cooking. Thick and sticky mess on the trifocals, every day.
