Squirrel: I'm a messenger from the squirrels! I've come to berate you and offer you a chance to surrender, and if you don't agree, I'm going to start yelling things like "blasphemy" and start insulting everything about you and your-- Whoa, whoa, wait a sec, sorta stupid of me to stand right next to this gaping pit while I'm spouting off like that.

Looks like some kind of set-up boys. Don’t trust that squirrel or one or all of you will be in the gaping pit . Then we will have a hostage situation!

Things are looking a bit squirrelly.
carmy about 15 years ago
They’re definitely nutty too.

That pit was never there in all the Pooch Cafe scenes before nor was it there when the Squirrel’s Cafe Shack, or whatever it is, all of a sudden appeared. I love the philosophical content of Pooch Cafe, but I’m being turned off by something stupid. Even Calvin could be explained…

kreole - maybe that’s the point, maybe the squirrels “arranged” for the hole to be there ….. or maybe we’re thinking too hard
jessispink about 15 years ago

barbhinikins—-OK I’ll try to think less hard. Hmmm…

I still haven’t seen the movie (or read the comic), but I got the reference right away because of trailers for that spoof movie.

It would be a good idea to look in all directions before spouting off.

A Pit? A pit!! To where I ask, to some Middle Earthian glory, to Narnia or the other side of the Moon? No, not so simple as that; tis a worm hole no doubt, and Pvt. Pooch would do well to run away lest he be sucked there in, and thence to some horrible soul’s damnation.
These are not squirrels dear friends, no mere earth creatures they.
Beware Pvt. Poncho, Beware !

“Blasphemy” refers to the tactics of Al Qaeda - they offer peace, but only if you submit to their terms. If you disagree, this is one word they use to justify attacking. So, I wonder what Al Squirrela has in mind - complete control of Pooch Cafe?

Wow.. I’m hearing a lotta “whoosh” in here! This is simply a reference to “300”, you guys are over-thinking it. Even AFTER someone else pointed out the reference!

Wolfdreamer250 about 15 years ago
I got the 300 reference right away. However another movie reference come to mind. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With Veruca and her father tossed into a pit by a bunch of squirrel
Remember - “Don’t touch their nuts.”
hoodooyoodoo about 15 years ago
I bet he could use plankie to get across the gaping pit
markwalton about 15 years ago
Dude, I LOVE how things like the pit appear just in time to poke fun at “300” (one of my favorite pasttimes), like the porche that appears, out of nowhere, in the previous storyline. It’s daring genius, man!
