“Hello, Carmen? Some crazy dogs ran one of your cats up a tree. I think one of the dogs belongs to that freeloading hippie, Chazz!”

I always knew that cats and dogs would get along fine if just the dogs didn’t get trained to dislike cats when they are pups.

If you boys are lucky this will be a cat that needs to be rescued by the fire department.

Note to dogs. Cats are much better at not caring!

But for squirrels, you sit at the base of the tree waiting for them to come back down voluntarily.

Odeliasimone - you are absolutely correct.

I don’t think pups are trained to dislike cats, but I think they can be trained to like them. If they’re raised together, no problem.

My dog had always lived with a cat or two, so he didn’t bother them. I had a roommate for a while, though, whose cat wasn’t raised around dogs, and HE was a problem (the cat, not the roommate); he’d hide under the furniture and take swipes (claws out) at my dog if he passed by.
