Droolia: Hi, Poo Poo! My name's Droolia!
Poo Poo: Oh, no! She's giving me a "play stance"! By pack dictates, I have no choice but to engage! Sob!!
Dog: Hey, buddy.
Poncho: Gasp! Ahhh!
Dog: Geez, I just needed a fourth for euchre.
Some friends and I actually formed a Euchre Club in high school many years ago (though probably ~ 15 years after jackdonhany had graduated). It was quite popular in certain bars and especially at the VFW, Legion, etc. in our area (WNY).
Back in ‘73, while in Paris studying, my roommate (from Colorado) taught me to play Euchre, and we played all that year. Never met anyone else who knew the game. It’s not very popular in WMass, apparently. LOL
I learned Euchre about 20 years ago, from some roommates. We played an awful lot of it, but after that household broke up I never played again. I don’t even remember how, anymore…
@crit I first learned about Euchre at my dad’s KoC in Tonawanda, then played in high school and college. We had lots of time in the math tutoring lab while waiting for people to come in. Math geeks + cards = competitve OCD + bad jokes.

Judging from the historical paintings on velvet, I thought dogs only played poker.

What is Poncho doing? Did he just let gas in that dog’s face? Whatever he did broke the atmosphere.

In my 72 years, I’ve never met anyone who plays Euchre. But I’ve met lots of folks who play Bridge… including a few dogs. Heck, I even play it.

I played Euchre a lot in high school. It was quite popular here in the 80s. That’s how I spent my Grade 12 and 13 Spare periods instead of studying…
BTW, you don’t actually need a fourth for Euchre. You can play it 3 handed or 2 handed. Although it’s hard to win a hand in 3 handed!
