Hudson: Ahh, morning! Time to bring my master his paper! Poncho: Are you kidding? Fetching a newspaper is a symbol of repression and servitude for dogs! Hudson: It is? Poncho: If you care at all about canine rights, you will leave that paper sitting there untouched! Hudson: Uh...okay... Ah-Ha!

If Poncho uses porcelain fixtures as shown in the last panel, why would he ever need to go out in the rain, snow, etc.? A very complicated dog.

But referring to the man as ‘my master’ is fine for dog freedom.

JPSteve, mabrndt….Don’t forget that, while we’re reading our comics online, the main focus of syndication is still on newspapers.Cartooning for the web pays little or nothing… most cartoonists’ only “salary” is a percentage of print sales. I’ve seen more than one artist slip in a shout-out for an event or memorable occasion at a newspaper that carries his/her strip…regardless of personal geography. These days, when the newspaper market is declining, they’re probably even more grateful for the support of the remaining papers.
