Luckily, most of the medicine I give my cats can be done in a liquid form & by a syringe in the mouth. I just have to get the cat secured in my lap & they can’t really spit it out.
when my pug needs her arthritis pill, I used to hide it in a spoon of wet cat food, and she scarfed that down without realizing it. Now its CBD oil. A few drop on her kibble
I had a dog that needed a lot of meds, some pills, some liquid. One of the liquids was very sweet. Squirt of liquid from an oral syringe, pill in the mouth, then more of the liquid and down went the pill, proving Mary Poppins right. Just a spoonful of sugar helped the medicine go down, in a most delightful way.

Poncho’s tastebuds win again!

Is it possible to grind up the pill and put it in the food bowl or water bowl? Poncho’s taste buds probably won’t notice.

Yeah, but kitty litter is really good!

Put it in something dead and rotten then Poncho will eat it ;-)

“Wow, dog tongues are amazing.”
You think that’s impressive, you should see what Sherilyn Fenn can do with a cherry stem.

Hold the muzzle, put the pill back as far as you can and Poncho is gagging, then release. Finish by giving a nice treat!

First of all Poncho doesn’t eat the actual litter. Second, what he does eat is pure protein. Dogs are good at detecting non-proteins.

Our dogs love liverwurst. They gulp down the coated pill because they can see that another piece is coming right after.

It’s still easier to do this with a dog than a cat!

It’s NOT the kitty litter my dog is attracted to….. Once I realized that, I prevented him from access to the litter pan(s).

Cats can do the same thing.

I got one hyphenated word: Cheese-Whiz. Almost always works. (Put a pill on a cracker then cover it with yellow goo)
