There is a simple fact of life: a 10 year old tends to know more than a 5 year old, a 20 year old more than a 10 year old, a 50-year old more than a 20 year old. Unfortunately, the 20 year old believes he is all-knowing, and hasn’t the experience to know ahead of time when he’s messing up.
Not that the 50 year old is necessarily any wiser. He just has more experience. Unlike the 20 year old, this allows him to regret most of the things he’s done in his life. Ah, the advantages of age.
