    Wow! Adult pet ownership in a nutshell: the transference of the love we owe to people (who may or may not accept it because they possess free will), onto an irrational animal which is incapable of accepting love, but gives the illusion of affection (due to dog pack hierarchy instincts of submission), which owners fantasize is love. (Except in Poncho’s case, LOL!)
