And they get a lot bigger than anyone imagines. I had them in my small pond and they got to be 2.5 lbs after a few years.

Ironic as me and the kiddo’s were discussing goldfish lifespans just this morning. Their goldfish outlived 3 catfish. I jokingly called him Drago the Catfish Slayer. I of course was quick to assure them they were not harboring a fishie serial killer, just a coincidentally fat goldfish that no longer has any companions.
