Why didn’t she just explain what happened to the teacher? If she really is a good student, I would think the teacher would make arrangements to help her. Of course, I went to a very small school where such personalized attention to individual students was possible. Probably not an option in the over-populated, under-staffed urban areas.
Presumably they covered all the test material in class. Even if Teena didn’t review it the night before the test, she probably would have known enough to get a good mark. She just doesn’t have enough confidence in her medium-term memory!
When I was teaching in the public school system, I told the students in one class to review for the next day’s test, and went over the material. When I finished, I told them that those who paid attention had an exact copy of tomorrow’s test…those that didn’t wouldn’t be given a copy by their friends who paid attention…and some made 100…some failed miserably….
