Publix (a large grocery store chain in the southeastern US) has now put their coupons on-line: “Skip the Clip” by entering your phone number at the check-out line.
In a column from the editor in today’s paper, he said that the amount of news they include each day is determined by the amount of advertising they have. Confirming my belief that newspapers exist only to distribute advertising, and they only include news to get people to pay for it.

So sad that the circulars, ads and coupon fliers are the only reason people buy the newspaper anymore.
