The problem is that when you’re comparing apples with oranges, you’re not comparing things that are as similar as they could be. There are a lot of differences so it’s meaningless to focus on just one. When you compare apples with apples, you can narrow in on specifics.

Apple and oranges are both fruits, have seeds in in them, are generally spherical in shape, and grow on trees from flowers.
The biggest difference is that you usually don’t eat the skin of an orange (although it is edible).
