When I was a kid, if one of the children in a family got mumps, measles or chicken pox, all the the other siblings were put in the same room so that the parents could get it over with at one time.
And all parents seem to have this litany down pat:“If you’re too sick to go to school, then you’re too sick to go play”.Nothing could be further from the truth, when you’re a kid.
I remember a movie once where the youngest son in the family was so tired of his older brothers getting sick first and then lording it over him when he got sick after they did that he decided to turn the tables on them. When a friend of his got the mumps he went to his friend’s sick room and had him breath on him so he’d be the first one in the family to get sick, but things didn’t turn out the way he wanted because when he got sick his brothers lorded it over him because they weren’t sick yet and he was. I wish I could remember what movie it was.
