Phooey let her spoil her Christmas with no surprises! I did that once when I was 10 and it ruined Christmas. I kept hoping I’d missed something and at least one thing would be a surprise but no. I never peeked again!

My mom kept the presents in her closet. We knew where they were and she said we could look if we wanted to ruin Christmas for ourselves. As far as I know, none of us ever did. Some of my friends would brag about finding out their presents ahead of time, but I always wondered what the point in that was. I guess it was something of a game for them, kids vs parents, and my mom short-circuited the possibility for it by not caring, lol.

When I was in high school, there were two girls in my grade that were cousins. One of their brothers was a friend of mine, and told me one or both had been Christmas peeking one year when they were little, so the next year their mothers (who were sisters), left the wrapped gifts for their daughters at the others house with decoy name labels. They then switched back Christmas Eve. I understand the girls were quite surprised.

Watch and it’ll be a classic rock CD, maybe Journey or KISS, like I’d like instead of the vapid pop crap they put out nowadays that she’d listen to.
