I have three older brothers. Older brothers rock! The brother just older than me was (and still is) a body builder. Sometimes just having him nearby was a great bully deterrent. He was (and still is) good-looking, so if I threw a party, girls would come to see him. All that aside, neither of my two older sisters were even remotely Jeri-like.
when sister came home from school .. being punched.. I did my big brother thing.. find the person and say.. No one hits my sister, except me. No one. and Yes, THE BIG BROTHER..
In my house we often said nasties to each other but no one outside of the house could insult our siblings. I remember once a bunch of kids wanted to beat me up (must’ve had something to do with my mouth) and my brother stood up for me and said no one was going to hit his sister. We went home and I asked him why he did that, he said “You’re my sister!”

I was the Big Brother. Sometimes I failed, and sometimes I did the thing. I learned a lot.

Sounds like these parents weren’t really on top of the situation.
