Sounds like a good idea to me. A ‘legal’ reminder of resolutions. Mine is write down what you want to accomplish the next day. It may be a small thing or several days(break down into doable each day).
I’ve heard this refered to as the poor man’s copyright, as long as you keep the envelope sealed you can prove that the article or story existed before a certain date, but I’ve never heard of anyone using it in court as proof.
