I worked in a Bradlees during Hurricane Gloria. A lot of people didn’t show up for work so we had a bare-bones crew. A lot of people came in to pick up essentials: batteries, candles, board games & coloring books to keep kids occupied, etc. One woman came through my register with a pair of dress slacks that had no tag. I mentioned to her that we were under an emergency; were the pants really necessary? She yelled at me that of COURSE they were because she was going to a hurricane party! So my entire line was held up as I tried to find a clerk to do a price check. To this day my family has a joke that we need storm essentials: milk, bread, and pants.

In PA the stores sell out of bread, milk & eggs before a snowstorm. Everyone must be eating French toast.

A sixer? That’s not enough to even get started.
