My daughters & I watched “Ghostbusters Afterlife” yesterday. There was a summer school class. The teacher brought in a TV and said that he was going to show “this little gem from the teachers’ lounge”. It turned out to be “Cujo”. The next time it was “Child’s Play” (with Chucky).
The men used the furnace room for their smoke breaks. Don’t know what the women did. There weren’t any video games, yet. You had to get up and turn a dial to change the channel (both of them).
I must be really old. None of the schools I attended had anything like a “teachers’ lounge”. The closest was that in my high school, each teacher had their own classroom, and they each had a “free” period every day, with no students, and the empty room to themself. But no place for them to gather and socialize.

Every time they opened the door to the teacher lounge, clouds of cigarette smoke poured out. And I am pretty sure I caught the odor of beer, too.

I confess! We had a year long card tournament… back in the early 70s.
