My father worked 5-1/2 days a week. On Saturdays he’d come home at noon, have lunch, then he & Mom would go into their room with instructions to us kids that, unless there was blood and/or death, NO ONE was to touch that door! That is probably the reason they were married for 67 years before they died…also probably the reason they had 7 kids… (All kidding aside, my mother once admitted to me that sometimes they’d just talk…and sometimes actually nap!)

Our parents would always send us kids to the Saturday morning matinee at the movie theater, whether we wanted to see the movie, or not.

Caught my parents in the act once. Freaked me out completely. Until then, I thought I was the product of Immaculate Conception.

I could hear my parents through the wall. I held no illusions. I lost my dad when I was ten, I can only wish I had more years to be exasperated about old thin walls…
