Unfortunately, when I was a kid, when everyone got together, they always wanted to play “boy” games like sports or war or somesuch. I usually ended up playing “girl” things alone.
In our front yard – with one player per team – large sidewalk blocks were both bases and basemen. An evergreen bush was the catcher. If the pitcher threw the ball and hit the base before the batter got there, that was an out. Any hit across the street was a home run.
