I have a sister who is 8 years older than me. She was so beautiful (still is) and I definitely looked up to her. The thing is, she is just as beautiful inside. I remember when she was 16 and I was 8 she asked our mother if she could take me with her to cheerleading practice. While I definitely felt “toady” next to her, I was honored to be allowed to hang with her & her friends. Funny thing is, her daughter is the same way. Her daughter is 8 years older than my older daughter. One day we went to visit. My niece (who was a teenager at the time) had a friend over, but she invited my little girls to join them up in her room. (For the record, I STILL wish I looked like her.)
