You’re right, Wartsome…that Baal was a real dud…

There isn’t a “god” that hasn’t been a dud.

I love this. I know how he feels.

For about 40 years I’ve been trying to understand why so many people believe in such supernatural nonsense.

The answer I’m leaning toward is that as a species humans are not nearly as smart as we need to be.

Of course, if I were as smart as we need to be, I’d have figured that out about 40 years ago.

(My secret hope is that we stop wasting all that money on stuff like cancer and heart disease research and put it into adding several dozen IQ points to newborns, the smartest of whom will then go on to cure cancer and heart disease in a few years, not decades. To quote the wonderful Judy Tenuta, IT COULD HAPPEN!)
